in the two weeks since michelmas term ended i have completed:
0% of my supervision work
<10% of my lab reports
~30% of my internship applications (which is basically to say 'i completed my CV and nothing else')
~80% of my christmas giving things list
this is pretty fucking sad since there's only a month left before classes begin again. i keep thinking eventually i'll guilt myself into doing my work, which is what i try to do every long break until about two days before term actually begins and i realize i have a small mountain of work that i haven't actually completed and freak out. of course, in my stubborness i'll probably keep at the 'guilt myself into doing it' anyway, because there's something to be said about habits and old dogs and misoneism.
in my attempts to not do any of my school work i have instead taken to studying vocab for the GREs. this is an exercise in pain and hilarity. i have gone from looking at actual vocab lists to slowly working my way through matching quizzes to pretending free rice was a viable study tool to giving up and just writing down words i didn't know from rageprufrock's fics. the words i've been writing down, likewise, have gone from retarded shit like 'vexillology' and 'obsequy' to 'bilk' and 'welkin' to 'bloviate' and 'nudnik' to 'onanism' and 'harridan'.
i will be absolutely truthful though, i am pretty sure i only remember like, 10% of the words i wrote down. I have vague plans to eventually compile them into a list or attempt to write some horrible epic involving ever single word (on the one hand i feel like this is amazing and i totally should do it, on the other hand some of the words have such bloody specific usages i haven't the slightest how i'd shove them in).
WHATEVER off to buy more prawn chips (guys guys they are so delicious and SO UNHEALTHY and so deliciousss) and god idk vegetables or something for whatever meal i remember to eat.
